Book are an essential part to every child's youth. Reading books at a young age, or just being read to, helps in children's development. Some of the long term benefits of reading are expanded vocabulary, increased fluency, increased knowledge of certain things, better understanding of other culture, higher text scores, gains in reading achievement's and much more. If that is not a reason to pick up a book and read to your child I don't know what is.
Some of you may wonder where to begin. I am going to share with you three of my must read choices in children's literature. I believe that these books are must reads for all children.
No, David is written for children of all ages. It has few words with some amazing illustration. The ending is enough to warm the toughest heart.
Madeline is written for children age 4 years and older. It is a cute tale of a little girl and touches on envy and bond. I cant believe I was 39 when I first read this book. Everyone should read it. Adults included.
Frog and Toad Are Friends is written for children ages 4 to 8 years old. It is a classic story of friend ship and shenanigans. Each short story included in this book leaves you wondering what they will do next while feeling so happy about the bond they have. You will miss out if you do not read this book.
I HOPE THAT I HAVE SPARKED AN INTEREST!
